Nearly all of Henry & Ann's children were Baptised at Stoke-by-Nayland & the Records were marked that Relative - Ernest Alfred Cook attended each baptism !!
Administration of Henry Cooks Estate Granted in 1742 at Bury Saint Edmonds to John Cook his only son.
The A12 highway goes east from London thru Essex to Chelmsford & around Colchester, then north along A134 abt 10klm to Nayland, then N/E on a side road abt 3/4klms to Stoke by Nayland, then north to Polstead. I have a photo in a book of the church Tower at Stoke by Nayland, which appears in many of the paintings by the Artist John Constable. ( Page 112 of the Readers Digest Touring Maps of England.)
Stoke-by-Nayland doesn't seem to have a Church. The nearest Churches would be either at Polstead or Nayland.
Nayland is a drowsy little market town. The Church dates from 1400 & houses one of Constable's rare religious paintings. Nearby village of Stoke-by-Nayland regarded as heart of "Constable Country". Largely 15 century churches features in several of his paintings.
