Laura was the daughter of of John Thomas Fulham "Jack" Letch & Elizabeth Felstead. She was born 7/12/1886 in Moore St, Creswick Vic. Laura had a great singing voice, she also played the piano. Her father produced Gilbert & Sullivan operas in Warracknabeal, Laura usually took the lead & her sister Marion also took part in his productions. She was a member of St Johns's Church of England, & sang in their Choir. She gave great assistance as a singer in many local concerts both during the Great War & in the years that followed. The 1914 Electoral Rolls shows Laura living in Warracknabeal Vic, employed as a saleswoman.
Newspaper Article - The residents of Beaufort learned with regret the death of Mrs. Laura Kelly, widow of the late Mr. Percy James Kelly, a well known stock & station agent for many years. The late Mrs. Kelly who was about 50 years of age came to Beaufort from Warracknabeal in 1915. The deceased, who had a kindly social disposition was highly esteemed & for many years was a popular member of the Beaufort Golf Club. She leaves two sons (James & Kevin Kelly) to mourn their loss.
She died on 1/7/1938 in Freemansons' Hospital, East Melbourne, Vic from Myocardial failure (6weeks), Hepatic, cardiac & renal degeneration over some years. She is buried in Box Hill Cemetery.
