5/7/1986 - Jack told me his grandfather was James O'Connor - Stonemason. He came to Australia with two small children & married Ann Jane Kerr - a relation of Kerr's Jewellery. She was just about the same age as her step-children. He helped build Hartley Gaol & made some of the Headstones in Hartley Cemetery.
SMH - O'CONNOR, Charles Henry - 1 October, 1956, late of 48 Brae St, Bronte, dearly loved husband of Ellen Victoria & loved father of Eileen (Mrs.Reid) Jack, Molly (Mrs.Whitehead of Springwood), Nancy (Mrs.Wallach) & dear grandfather of their families, brother of Eileen (Mrs.Spencer, Melbourne) aged 81 years.
