1995 - Lieut. Col., "D" Coy.,13th Batt.; b. Sydney 23/8/1893; educ. Auburn P.S.; engineer; enlisted 4/10/1914; emb. 23/12/1914. War Service: Egypt; Gallipoli (Landing); at Quinn's Post he conducted his platoon safely out of a tight corner, and was awarded a second star; he was serverely wounded in the shoulder at Lone Pine, 7/8/1915; recovered; rejoined Coy. in Egypt Jan 1916, & when the 45th Batt. was being formed he was given the rank of Capt.,& charge of "A" Coy., 45th Batt., left Egypt for France March 1916, & was again severely wounded in the Somme campaign while in the front trenches, cheering his men during the awful bombardment on August 14th; for his bravery he was awarded the Military Cross, & in Sept. was made Major; on his recovery in November he was boarded for home, but refused to go; rejoined unit 1/11/1916; was then given temporary command, & later was made Lieut.-Col. in charged of the 46th Batt., but after a few months was given command of his old battalion, the 45th. Lieut.-Col. Perry was also mentioned in despatches. Prior to enlisting he was Area Officer at Auburn, & had been for eight years in the Engineering School at the Sydney University.

T.W.Perry (killed in action), Miss Ray Perry, Mrs. Hope King (dec) & Jack Perry, fond brother-in-law of Joy & uncle of Theo King. Aged 88years. Lest we forget.
16/5/03 - SMH - PERRY - The rels & friends of the late Lt.Col. STANLEY LLEWELLYN PERRY, D.S.O., M.C., M.I.D.4, V.I.C., D.E.C., of Auburn, are kindly invited to attend his funeral service, to commence at 12.15pm, this day (Friday), at St Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Queen St, Auburn. On conclusion of the service the cortege will proceed to Rookwood Crematorium.
We used to see him riding in a car in the Anzac Day March, when we watched it on television. He was 88yrs old when he died. Stan & Mary didn't have any children.
