Great Uncle George Ellis arrived in Australia after visiting South Africa, on the S.S.Precurseurs (French) on 21/6/1883, with a group of men which included Grandfather John Dawson. They worked to-gether building the Queen Victoria Building in George St, Sydney, & other places before they started their own building company. The lived in Carlyle & Dean Sts, Enfield.
20/4/1982 - applied for the Death Cert for George Ellis, he died in Prince Alfred Hospital, Camperdown, late of Marrickville, 70 years old. The informant was Annie Pratt, daughter, of 141 Warren Rd, Marrickville. There were four children alive, Frank, Annie, George & Stanley, & two deceased, Harry & Wally. Also Annie hadn't married Albert Wilson by April 1928.
