Narrative

Carl was 9yrs old when his father Sheldon died. He went to school at Scots College.
I have a newspaper cutting of Carl & Merrylann with the then Lord Mayor of Sydney, Alderman Leo Port, trying out a pair of Roller Skis on the slopes of the Town Hall steps. Carl Bongers, a ski instructor, said he "found the Lord Mayor an apt pupil"
Carl worked at Paddy Pallins, cnr Kent & Bathurst Sts Sydney. He was very fond of sport. I met him one day at Paddy Pallins about 1988, I had Adam with me. Carl & Merlyann lived at 32 Bon Accord Ave, Bondi Junction.
Carl died at Balboa Naval Hospital, San Diego, America. A Memorial Service was held at Scots College Chapel on 19 May, 1999, & a wake & scattering of ashes was held at Bondi Icebergs at 8.30am on 23 May, 1999.
