Narrative
Noah was born 21/8/1838, at Holcombe, Nailsworth, Gloucester (Minchinhampton distrist),he was the 10th child of Jacob & Elizabeth Gazzard, he was a farm labourer in Gloucestershire; sawyer (1861), spinner in NSW. He arrived in Sydney 28/7/1858 by the "Fitzjames" aged 19yrs, with Job & Ellen & families.
They lived in Holcombe Cottage, Cowper St, Parramatta.
Noah & Hannah's grave is at May's Hill Cemetery. Section C, Row 9, #8. The headstone says he died 2nd Feb, 1912, but burial records show he was buried on 3rd Dec, 1912 ??
Headstone reads - In Memory of HANNAH SOPHIA GAZZARD, Died 4th June 1899, aged 60 years,
Also NOAH GAZZARD, husband of the above, Died 2nd February 1912, aged 73 years.
White Marble headstone on sandstone plinth (5ft 1in x 2ft 3in x 3ins) Norman with rounded shoulders, decorated with a broken stemmed lily in a circular niche at centre top. In a family plot enclosed by a sandstone kerb (8ft x 7ft 8ins) Faces west.
