Brisbane Courier Mail - On Friday 10/7/1863, a man named Samuel Irish found a woman who had committed suicide on the rocks in the Sydney Domain, not far from the high watermark, the fence to the Botanical Gardens & Mrs. Macquarie's Chair.
Brisbane Courier Mail - Tuesday 16/10/1866, Samuel Irish was fishing with John Haydon on the Turbot Street Wharf in central Brisbane, where they saw a man go into the water. The Police dragged the river but couldn't find anyone. The man was later found inside the paddle wheel of the "Kate", a steamer on the Brisbane River.
Brisbane Courier - 28/11/1878, Samuel is listed as a Juror in the Supreme Court murder trail. The story gives details of the murder, the judges instructions to the jury & how the jury found on ea count.
Brisbane Courier - 19/1/1894, there was a court notice; Petty Debts Division of South Brisbane Police Court:- Samuel Irish v Minnio Herth, Five Pounds Goods. I think the Court found in Samuel's favour.
Brisbane Courier - 25/2/1896, Samuel was listed as a subscriber to an advertisement promising to vote for Duncan Sinclair in the Woolloongabba electorate (South Brisbane).
Tried the website for the history of the DRUIDS. "In 1851 Bro. Hymen from Lomdon migrated to Australia & set up the first Druids lodge. Discovery of Gold halted the Society's development until 1861. At this time Bro. Barnard went to Melbourne & established a lodge which flourished across Victoria. Druid lodges were in NSW, SA, Vic & WA. So if Samuel was involved with the Druids, it would most likely have been in Sydney before he went to Queensland.

I have found the Marriage Banns of Samuel Irish & Jane Baker, both of the Parish of South Petherton, on 1st Aug, 8th Aug, & 15th Aug, 1847, signed by Henry Bond, Vicar. If Samuel was born 1826, that means he was 21 years old. Jane must have died before Samuel came to Australia.
