Narrative

Edward & Margaret lived at Exeter Farm, he was a leading horse breeder; he bred Clydesdales, thoroughbreds, hacks, hunters & ponies. He had a great love for animals & skill in handling them. His neighbours regarded him as the local vet & called him whenever they had sick animals. He was a keen exxhibitor at all local shows & the Royal Show. He also had a fine tenor voice, singing around the piano appears to have been a regular part of his life. After the death of his 1st wife Margaret in 1885, he married her older sister, Elizabeth.   Narrative

Edward & Margaret were married at St. Thomas's Mulgoa, on 4 Apr 1864. It is a beautiful old sandstone building with a flagstone floor, situated just off the Mulgoa Rd, on the Penrith side of Mulgoa. The marriage was conducted by Rev. George Vidal, who was second minister appointed to the parish.
