Narrative

Charles, the only son of Thomas, died aged 26 years at West Maitland & was buried by Rev. R B Campman on 2 Aug. 1855 at Campbell's Hill Cemetery at West Maitland (now known as South Street, Telarah) Section B8, Plot 30 without a headstone. Charles was listed as a Butcher.
Death of a servant to Richard Mayo & Alex McAuley at Mulworth Farm. Charles went across the Hunter River to post letters at Raymond Terrace. There he drank all afternoon. He overtoppled from the boat & was drowned. (Maitland Mercury 1/8/1855) (V1855 1701 43A).
