Sylvester Thornton was christened "Sylvester Joseph" at St Lukes Scone according to the Parish Records, but when he was married he took the name of Sylvester Lewis Thornton ??
He married Catherine Christina Dodd in 1873 but it looks like she died in 1874.
There are 4 children recorded to him between 1881 & 1886 but they are all recorded as being the children of Sylvester Lewis Thornton & Mary Agnes ?? but I can't find a marriage for them.
SMH - THORNTON, 22 December, 1915, at a private hospital, Darlinghurst, SYLVESTER LEWIS THORNTON, late of "Thorndale", Muswellbrook, aged 71 years. I couldn't find a funeral Notice.
