I found a death for a Sydney Thornton in 1856 - #5332 Vol122a, but when I looked it up it was for a Sydney Thornton age 50 who died 22 May, 1856 at Crown Street, Camperdown, buried 24th May, he was a stonemason. So now I don't know just when he died.
