5/5/2005 - Received info on the marriage of James McFadden & Catherine Shields in 1860 & all their children, from Judith Bowen (nee Cruwys)
James & Catherine were married in Barraba, which is on the road North between Tamworth & Warialda. They lived in Bathurst for many years where the children were born.
Found James & Catherine's & their childrens deaths in the Old Catholic Section of Rookwood Cemetery. Mortuary #1. Sec F, Row 30, Plot 1355, James McFadden - my husband, Native of Co. Donegal, Ireland & John Joseph McFadden, son of the above. Native of Bathurst. Accidentally killed, died 4 Dec 1900, aged 35yrs.
I couldn't find a Death or Funeral Notice in SMH for James McFadden (father) on 12 Sep 1890, 50yrs.
20/7/2005 - Received the Death Transcription for James McFadden from Shirley Wharton. There are a lot of mistakes on the Death Cert. His age is wrong, on the Shipping records he was 14yrs old in 1841, that would have made him born abt 1827, so he would have been abt 63yrs old. Also his mothers name is wrong. But his wife's name is right, & his childrens names are the same as on his wife's certificate, so it must be the right Certificate. The place of death is recorded as Potts Hill.!! I have spent neally 8 hours going through the Electoral Rolls, The area which was called Potts Hill is now roughly the area of Regents Park, Berala nowdays. But No McFaddens in 1906 or 1909.

James McFadden - son of above, died 9 Dec 1933, 70yrs.
