Argus - 17/2/1917 - Arrest of Ledger-keeper - A sensation was caused at Mortlake this morning when a young man named Stanley Pund, 20yrs old ledger-keeper at the Mortlake branch of the Bank of Victoria, was arrested on two charges of safe robberies & of stealing money, & some keys. The matter had been reported to Constable Ryan, who followed a line of inquiry which ended in Pund being arrested. The matter came before the Court on Wednesday. It was decided to reduce the charge to Larceny, in view of Punds's age of 18yrs, a lenient view was taken, & a sentence of 12 months imprisonment was made, to be suspended upon surities & a bond of 100 pounds being entered into regarding his behaviour for 12 mths. Pund's father was elected to act as bondsman.
Stan was still working as a bank clerk in 1927 in Mortlake, Vic. He then worked as a Mantle manufacturer, then by 1946 he resided at 7 Gibbon Cres, Caulfield, Vic. & had a factory in Flinders Lane, Melbourne, manufacturing Bridal wear, also a shop in Wangaratta.
He died in 1960 in Chatswood, NSW. I had a look at the Probate files in NSW to see if he had left a will, but couldn't find one.
Feb 2009 - Applied to Joy Murrin for his death Certificate - died 16/4/1960 at 6 Marlborough Rd, Willoughby, he was a Company Manager, 65yrs old, died of Cerebral Haemorrghage, father Percy Pund, Farmer, mother unknown, buried on 28/4/1960 at Northern Suburbs Roman Catholic Cemetery, he was married in Sydney aged 20yrs to Lillian Annie Niblette (married) & had 3 children, Madge 43, Keith R.32, Mavis (dec).

FUNERAL of STANLEY MARTIN PUND of Murrumbeena, Victoria will leave our Chapel at Nth Sydney this Thursday at 1.30pm, for the Catholic Lawn Cemetery, at Northern Suburbs.
