James & Anne Ashcroft were both Baptised on 31 July, 1825, by Rev John Cross of St Matthews, Windsor, in the name of ASHCRAFT ?? it said they were born in Minto ?? which is a long way from Windsor ??
James Ashcroft bought Macquarie Fields House, the home of Rev. George Fairfowl Macquarie. I was told he lived with his housekeeper, but he did marry her, he had no decendants.

Macquarie Fields House was owned by George Fairfowl Macarthur, Anglican clergyman & schoolmaster, born 19 January,1825, at The Vineyard, Parramatta,third son of Hannibal Hawkins Macarthur & Anna Maria King. He married 16/5/1849 St James Anglican Church, Sydney to Margaret Annie Priddle, they had five children. He died 16 June 1890 in Ashfield.
George Fairfowl Macarthur was senior Chaplin to the Volunteer Forces of N.S.W., a minister of St Peters Anglican Church, Campbelltown & of St Mary the Virgin Anglican Church, Denham Court NSW. He operated a Boarding School at Macquarie Fields House at Campbelltown. He was Head Master at Kings School, Parramatta from 1869 to 1896??. ---- by Campbelltown District Family History Society.
