Narrative

Emma, Christine & Harry Dawson are all buried at St. Thomas's Enfield Sec.21 Grave 3.
In 1847 Thomas & Charlotte Hyndes donated 5 acres to build a Church in Enfield. The Foundation Stone was layed by Bishop Broughton on 1st February, 1848, with great triumph, with stone from his own quarry in Enfield, & cedar from his timber-felling business. The Church was named in memory of St Thomas the Apostle. I attended the 150th anniversary of St. Thomas's & bought a book about the building of St Thomas's & although we were told that Grandfather John Dawson & his brother-in-law George Ellis were responsible for building the Porch at the front of the Church, there is no mention of them in the book.
