Time has made little difference to the Rev. John Bongers, Queensland's oldest Congregational Minister. He will be 93yrs next month, 66 years a minister -- and still comes willingly out of retirement at Wynnum to take a church service.
Mr. Bongers was ordained in 1888, he has served in N.S.W., Victoria, & Tasmania before coming to Queensland. He preached in Queensland for 43 years, before he retired in 1938.
