He was 18yrs & 8mths when he enlisted at Warwick Farm on 8/9/1915, "C" Co, 40 Batt, Embarked 20/12/1915 HMAT Aeneas, Ship #a60, Private 13th R/cts, 1st Batt, T.O.S. 54th Btn, served in the Middle East and France with 45th Infantry Battalion. #4139A. Killed in action near Poziers, France on 12th August 1916. He was awarded British War Medal & Victory Medal. His memorial plaque details are:- 26 Villers Bretonneux-France, panel 26,
